  4. it frustrates me how much more females gotta go through solo traveling compared to men. love solo traveling sometimes the female part can get overwhelm. it inspires me though that so many women continue to solo travel and don’t let the men of the world stop them! i even feel like more women than men engage in solo travel

  10. I literally paused this video every 45 seconds to google all of these recommendations. This is helping a ton. Great video!

  11. One thing I would say is definitely try to fit in with the locals to a degree but don’t let this stress you out!! As long as you’re being quiet and not disrupting things that’s usually the most people expect from you. I was so nervous my first week in Japan because I thought there were all these complex social rules from watching videos (not made by Japanese people who would’ve thought) when in fact people are just people. Just don’t be an asshole pretty much.

  12. You don't have to worry about security?? She's a drug smuggler for sure …… 😂🤣 Totally joking this is good info thank you.

  13. hi! i'm doing a solo backpacking trip in switzerland soon and i have a question about the swiss travel pass; once you buy it, how do use it to get on trains? do you still need to get a ticket from the ticket office, or do you just show them your printed out pass and then get on the train? if anyone could answer this that would be great. <3

  14. I haven’t done much traveling myself but when I went to DR I bought travel insurance , which u definitely need to have for that country. So find that out before your trip… Also, make sure u set up a phone plan before going out of the country, it’s definitely nice to have data to talk to family and use the gps

  15. What was the total cost? Around? I’m planning a trip to Europe and I was wondering around how much was the trip.

  16. Thank you so much for such a helpful and structured video! I am an Italian student currently on my first semester abroad and I'm going to visit some European countries in the spring so these tips will definitely be useful.

Also, I just wanted to say that your videos are incredibly inspiring: we have lots in common but also some differences (also bc we belong to very different cultures) but your independent, curious and kind soul never ceases to inspire me and go for my dreams. I like the way you are into personal growth without making it a "burden".
Keep up the good work, you have an amazing channel! Wish you the best 🙂

  17. I’ve always found that it feels weird at first and then after a few days it feels totally natural. Solo traveling is so common nowadays and if you’re reading this you’re a badass so there’s no reason to be self conscious 🙂

  18. Hey Elena! I love your videos. Which vlog camera would you recommend for traveling? Just a good quality one for a beginner 🙂
